OWN A REAL PIECE OF HISTORY!: This extraordinary instrument was patented by the artist, fiddler and inventor William Sidney Mount in 1852 and there are only several known playable examples in existence. They were too loud for orchestral use and W.S. Mount was not much of a marketer.
Extremely loud and full-bodied. Note the enigmatic reverse f-holes (no one knows why, but they sure are cool looking). They will certainly get attention.
We are working with a certain major institution (known as 'the Jeffersonian' by fans of the TV program 'Bones') on an exact reproduction. When that work is finished, we will make these instruments available to the general public.
Like our extremely popular Octave Violin Type II, these instruments will be produced jointly with Fiddarci Lutherie in Birmingham, AL.
