These strings are quite small in diameter for their relatively high (but safe) tension (56.5 lbs). This translates to extreme power and responsiveness.

There are louder strings to be had, but most people have never heard strings as loud as SuperFlexibles. On an acoustically strong instrument, these strings are well balanced, with a nice full-bodied G and D and powerful but bright A and E. On acoustically weaker instruments, such as a pochette, the G and D are amazing in the amount of powerful bass they put out; whereas the A and E are a bit brassy. For this reason, we sell a special set of strings especially for pochettes and backpacker fiddles that includes a SuperFlexible G and D with a D'Addario Helicore A and aluminum wound E.
