Store Policies

Fiddle and Bow Store offers the following Returns Policy:

As musicians and instrument enthusiasts ourselves, we understand the need to try an instrument or bow before making a final decision. Our return policy is really simple. Here is how it works:

  1. As soon as you recieve a delivery from us, take everything out of the package(s), being careful not to destroy the packaging, in the event that should you decide to return something later because you don't like it as much as you had hoped you would.
  2. Inspect your items, particularly instruments and bows, to ensure that no damage occured in shipping. If you notice any damage whatsoever, please contact us immediately (404-713-3750 or drickert@bellsouth.net). We will work out the most convenient arrangement for UPS to pick up the damaged goods and we will ship a new item to you.
  3. In the case of violins/fiddles, a common shipping issue is a soundpost that has fallen out of place. If you prefer, we will pay your local violin or fiddle shop to re-set the soundpost rather than going through the whole return hassel. Unless you have the proper tools and experience, we beg you not to try to reset a soundpost yourself...it is much harder than it looks!
  4. Assuming no damage problems, which will be the case 99% of the time, or once you have recieved replacement of any damaged items, you have 14 days to try most products we sell, including strings if they have not been removed from their package.
  5. If you decide (within 14 days) to return something call us at (404) 713-3750, and we will "walk-through" how to get it back to us. We strive to make this as painless a process as possible. For instruments and bows, it is essential that you use the special packaging that they were shipped to you in. We will cover the cost of returning the item or items to us and will give you a full refund.
  6. If, for some reason, you decide to return a fiddle/violin or bow within 90 days, we will still accept returns; however, we will charge a rental fee for time beyond the first 14 days. This fee is low. It is 5% of the instrument's or bow's list price per month or any portion of a month. This means that, say, you decide after 35 days to return a fiddle, you owe a month's rent. Another condition of these extended trial periods is that you pay for the shipping, including the insurance.

If you can think of any way to make our return policy more clear, easier or better, please contact Dr. Don Rickert, the Managing Partner of Rickert & Ringholz Musical Instruments, which is the company that owns the online Fiddle and Bow Store. Dr. Rickert can be reached at (404) 713-3750 or via email at drickert@bellsouth.net.

The bottom line is that we want you to be so delighted with our products and our customer service, that you will tell your friends, colleagues, family members, and/or anyone else you talk to about how good we are. It is hard to overcome the impersonal nature of buying special things like high-end fiddles and bows over the Internet, but doing so is our goal nevertheless.

One more thing: we always hate it when we have to leave a message to a 'call center' when we need customer service. There will some times when we cannot answer the phone, but we promise to call you back as soon as we can. As our company grows, we will add really nice folks to our Customer Service operation.
